Fuel shut off timer

Have any of you more knowledgeable members ever come up with a simple system to keep the engine running for a couple minutes, allowing cooldown for turbo. I know there is a system for sale but, the cost is about 250.00!! That sounds steep to me. Surely there is an easy and simple way to wire one up. Any thoughts on this.
