Edge EZ versus Edge Comp

I have noticed some of you recommending using the Edge Comp instead of the EZ and not hooking up the pump tap wire until drive train mods are complete. This gives the benefit of not having to sell the EZ when stepping up. Has any one tried this? Do you get about the same performance as the EZ? Can this damage the Edge Comp or the ECM? I have an e-mail into Edge with these questions, but they have not answered yet...
