Which Fleetguard?

I purchased a Fleetguard filter from my local diesel shop, a Cummins "specialist" and was given an LF3349. It has two different notations printed on the shell acknowledging its approval for OEM Cummins installation. 3600 miles later, I pulled into a Freightliner shop and when asked what I wanted, I told them two LF3349s for my '99 24Valve.....he looked it up and said that was the right filter for a B series. Now, I see that there are only two Fleetguards authorized by Cummins, neither being the LF3349, according to the Local Dodge dealer and ....oh yes....

...the diesel outfit that sold me the first LF3349. I have installed a recommended LF3894 but am left with two of the "misfits". Oddly enough, the LF3894 has no referrence to Cummins printed on it....

So....can I use the two 49s in a pinch? Or...as the Dodge folks said "They're getting real nasty about non-approved additions or replacements....warranty and all that" But the book says those filters are good for series B 5.9 diesels.....what the #### is going on?
