How I got all the oil out.

I drained my oil tonight and, sure enough, the "Finger Touch Engine Oil Drain Valve" from Geno's Garage will not allow all the oil to drain.

The boss in the oil pan where the drain plug goes has four holes located 90 degrees apart that permit all the oil to drain out of the pan. I cut a flat on the drain valve with the edge of a flat file a little more than 90 degrees around the base of the valve (just above the gasket). I made sure I went deep enough to remove all the threads and then some. Then I drilled a 3/16" hole from the flat into the inside diameter of the valve.

I installed the valve, dumped a couple ounces of oil into the engine and grinned as the oil dripped out into the drain pan. It takes a while for the dripping to stop, but I always let it drain overnight anyway.

A note of caution --- apply the emergency brake when draining your oil! The truck drifted forward a little while the oil was draining and I had quite a mess on the floor.
