Question SPA Gauge setup question

I finished hooking up my SPA gauges tonight, and I have some questions about programming the unit. On the drive home my pre-turbo temp was reading 80 degrees F at idle and the max I saw at full throttle and 20 psi of boost was 280 degrees F. I think I have found the problem, but I'm not sure. One of the menu items is thr, for thermocouple option on/off. When I first powered up the gauge thr was set to off. The only other setting mentioned in the manual is "on if you are using the optional thermocouple interface to measure temperatures up to 255 deg C using a standard K type thermocouple sensor". So after the temp didn't work at all with "thr off" selected, I changed it to "thr on 255". After getting home, I played with the settings some more and discovered a third thr option, which is "thr 1000". Is this the setting I need for degrees F? It certainly reads a lot better at idle. I wasn't allowed to go for a drive to see if the problem is totally fixed. Wife doesn't understand the need to play.

So far, I am impressed with the quality of the gauge. I am not impressed with the manual. It is very cryptic and hard to follow. For the amount I paid, I would think they could have written a manual specific to the gauge I purchased, rather than a generic manual that covers several different gauges.

Thanks

Greg
