Post Full Time Fuel Pressure Gauge

Ok I did some searching first and read all that I could find about a fuel pressure gauge on a 12v. My question is wouldn't using a fuel pressure gauge occasionally be adequate to check the helth of the fuel system and lift pump?

I understand that the gauge will let me know when the filter becomes contaminated, but with regular filter maintence and good fuel, I don't think that is all that important. I emailed Ted J. on the topic and his response was to check it occasionally.

Don't get me wrong I like gauges, but I'm trying to decide if I want a full time fuel pressure gauge or not. I was just hoping for some of your input.

Thanks,
Ryan
