AFE Mega Canon ?

I was at a diesel shop here in Portland checking out some upgrades and they had the AFE Mega Canon on display. What a great looking product! I'm currently running a K & N replacement in my stock box, and I have a couple of concerns about switching over. The Mega Canon is wide open under the hood. I would think it will get dirty or wet very easy. Is anyone using this had any problems? They do sell a water proof pre filter you can pull over it. Kind of looks like a nylon sleeve. Their specs do say that you'll lose about 10% of the air flow. It may not be a bad idea to put it on if you were to travel for an extened period on dusty roads.

They quoted me $295 intalled. I almost jumped at it, but wanted to post here first for some input. Let me know what you think. I have money burning a hole in my pocket.
