Ever had warranty work refused due to claimed improper lubricant use?

Ever have a service department refuse to honor your warranty due to their claim you were NOT using the proper lubricant for your specific failure/application? If so, can you give the specifics?

We have the ocassional "lube wars" here as related to warranties and various auto maker specifications related to API or specifically required lubricants for a particular application - have you ever used something the dealer said was NOT authorized, and had your warranty voided? This would include ALL drivetrain elements - engine, tranny and differential...

Let's see if our concerns over lube specs IS a valid issue...
