Air Intake Under Bumper (Like Sled Puller's)
When I was at Muncie I saw alot of Sled Pulling trucks with their air intakes mounted under the bumper. My belief is that they do this to get their intake temps reduced by sucking air from the front, thus a reduction in EGT's. (correct me if I'm wrong )
I was wondering if their is a possible street use of these intakes. I realize rain water getting the filter wet would cause some restriction so a marine filter would be neccesary. But mounting a non-restrictive shield may deflect some of the water.
I realize alot of trucks ride that ride lower will be at a disadvantage to a system like this. However I'm considering this for vehicles with at least a leveling kit.
What do you think???
