Question Rancho shock bolts wearing out!

I have added the coil spring spacers and at the time I put new rancho 9000s on. I was told I did not have to get the longer shocks, that the regular ones will work. But lately I have been hearing a clunking noise up front. And I checked by pushing down on the front of the truck and can see play in the lower shock bolts. Are they wearing because they are cheap bolts or are the shocks bottoming out and wearing the bolts out? I have not looked into it real far I just was wondering if anybody else was having the same problem.
