mounting CB in dash?

i am wanting to mount my cobra 25 st w/nw where my exsisting crummy cupholder is. can this be done? i noticed that some guys have done this, looks like they filled in the rest of the space with one of those "blank plates" from marks custom stuff? any thoughts? who's all done this and how? thanks for the info.
