Mysterious Holes On My Truck...Possibly For Accessories?

I just noticed that I have four sets of holes on my truck. One set on each bedrail and one set on each rocker panel side at the bottom lip. On the bedrails there are three holes spaced out approximately 44" to 46"; one in front, middle, and back. Could have those been for a tonneau cover or bedrails? Then on the rockers there are two holes spaced out 31.25" from each other, one on each side of the truck. My guess would be running boards but why wouldn't they be full extended cab boards on an x-cab? The holes would justify that to not be possible. Just trying to figure out what was on the truck before. I would possibly put the stuff back on if I can find what the holes are for. Any help?
