What gears and tire size are you running in that truck? Is 100 mph really only 1500 rpm? That's some crazy fast speed you're hitting there!

Injection Timing : Four levels.
# 1 ; Stock.
# 2 ; “Stock injectors”. ( Default )
# 3 ; “Aftermarket Injectors”.
# 4 ; “Less timing advance than “Aftermarket injectors”.

Im assuming that "stock" is just that stock timing. stock injectors is the advanced timing for the stock injectors then 3 is the more advanced timing for bigger injectors followed by a less timing advance for bigger injectors?

Also what are the details for the shift limiter?

Sounds like this may be good, but without information about what the programs do it will only make the number of combinations to try even more daunting. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't have the desire to load then test drive and then evaluate 27 of the 512 possible combinations in a quest for better economy with no smoke. Though it sounds like only one 45 minute or so upload to the Smarty will be needed for all the combinations. Is that correct? If so that is great news!

Anyhow if MADS doesn't want the end user understand how the software changes the engine performance, please at least give us hints at the best combinations likely to maximize mpg in these times of frightening fuel prices!

For example will choosing #2 timing with #2 or #3 rail pressure increases improve economy? If so will it also increase the throttle touchiness, similar to the way one of the early beta towing softwares did? Do the different HP levels pull harder across the entire rpm range or just add top end power? How do the hp settings effect low end mpg?

Thank you, I guess good things come to those who wait. Will the new software be able to cure the 'surging' issue? Any ideas?

The shift defuel is what's others often call " Torque Management".

It's that function in the ECM that does not allow more than 20 Psi boost without wheelspeed detected and defuels during the shifts of the tranny ( Automatic!)

Now they call it " Torque Management" but in reality it's just a trigger of the torque management. The shift defuel ( sorry for the lack of a better term ) is the trigger that's pulled when you boost launch and you can't build more than 20 Psi without wheelspeed.

The " shift defuel " in " OFF " disables that trigger but the downside is ( for now, have to do more R&D) that the shift light indicator on the dash is turned off also. Maybe after all that's not a bad thing, remainds you that your tranny is on borrowed time... I would not use it for daily driving not even with a buit tranny.
If you have ears....listen!

LOL

Just a guess, but you might know when the volume (B&W) around the VP44 hushes down.

The new options seem nice!

And considering how long we've been waiting for the VP44 model modifications (2 years), might be waiting a while....................
