Heat sheilds for the exhaust system

Here is a great way to improve the comfort and quality of the cab of your truck. Install a heat/sound sheild between the muffler and cab bottom of the truck, it works wonders and cost very little. I started with an aluminum FlowMaster heat sheild, secured two layers of heat resistant matterial to the top of the sheild. Then followed up with a layer of sound barrier and a final covering in aluminized high heat barrier blanket. The result was a good way to reduce the heat transfered to the cab floor, and at the same time lower the noise associated with the exhaust system's muffler. Anyone that tow much will realy like the noise that is reduced by the barrier, a large portion of the deep throated rore is removed, as is much of that drone everyone hates. The floor stay much cooler and the AC works much better as a result.
