G/V Aux Tranny on a 98 Auto 354 Geared??

I tried this in the 2nd Gen Engine & Tranny, but few responses.

Most everyone seems to buy these O/D auxillary trannys with 410 gears. I have the 354's in the 4x4. Gear Vendors says it will still help because I will split gears, and be able to tow in Dodge 3rd, with G/V in O/D. They do not offer the Underdrive gears, like the US Gear set-up. That is just as expensive, but more modifications necessary to install, if I understand correctly.

Towing flat, probably no issues, but what about getting up to speed, especially starting out up a hill? Will the dodge tranny hang in there? I get going, but I have to be careful to ease into it, or the tranny seems to work(slip). Maybe I'm just too use the 6-speed for all those years?
