Better FASS II Pre-Filter Options

I have a 95 gph FASS II and was wondering if anyone has come up with a better filter other then the inline one which has potentinal to block up fast. I dropped my tank & took out the tank filter and cleaned out the tank so now I am depening on the prefilter to catch anything which it has and has caused me to replace it a couple times. Also your eventually going to damage the hose w/ the hose clamps from the constant loosing & tightining.

It would be nice to mount some sort of small spin on type of filter next to the tank. I remember someone posting that they got a kit from NAPA for a cheap price and has been working great for him. Anyone have any ideas?
