Straight Pipe vs. Aftermarket Exhaust

Alright guys I want to make my truck a little louder and I am trying to decide on just taking the flo-pro muffler I have on off & replacing it w/ a straight piece of pipe & leave the resonator in place to help with drone or go with a mprb exhaust to avoid the drone.. I am looking for a nice deep sound kind of like a big rig.. Also I have heard the exhaust tips make a difference on the sound.. Is this true or just a myth?? Thanks
