Phat Shaft 64/14 and Industrial Injection

I finally received my 64/14.

A little description of installation. First off, getting the old turbo off was a breeze. Getting the downpipe off ................. well, it went better than expected, but still was a pain.

Installation of the PS64/14 was a little more than I first anticipated. First off, I didn't realize the compressor and exhaust housing could be "reclocked" until I talked to Brady. Boy, I tell you what, Barry was a true help! Had I not talked to him, I would have been lost. Once I found out that the housings could be re-situated to properly fit the intercooler line and drain line for the oil, it was then a breeze as well. If you don't know what "reclocking" is, ask someone before you decide to change out a turbo just in case you have to adjust everything to your needs.

Now a description of the turbo itself. OMG!!!!!! Best thing I can think of is a Jet Turbine Engine compared to a pinwheel! It's that big of a difference!!! On the old HX turbo, I could hit the go juice and the turbo would almost screem "NOOOOOOOOOOO NOT AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN". Now, with the new turbo, I can hit that fast pedal and the turbo just laughs at me .......... almost as if "don't you have more than that???". It's incredible!!! There IS a bit more lag in spool up, but with how I drive, it won't affect me much at all. I definitely wouldn't suggest going with this turbo for a stock setup. Smarty on 9 and my TST on 9 really don't affect it that much. I CAN make the turbo talk, but I'm taking it easy during the break-in period. Before, on the interstate, the HX would be between 10 and 20psi and would hit 30 no problems with just the cruise. This new turbo is quite happy around 5 on the interstate and doesn't really move much with the cruise.

Thanks II and Brady! I really do appreciate your support and clarifications.

*Edit* I'm an idiot, his name is Brady, not Barry. Ugh! Sorry about that!
