Updated Baldwin Oil Filter Number

Hey guys - the Cummins branch here in Memphis has gone up over $2.00 on the price of a Fleetguard oil filter for our trucks and won't give quantity discounts, so I decided to see if Baldwin made a filter to fit our application.

A quick TDR search revealed that some guys have used Baldwin part # BT7339 for the 24V trucks. I went to Baldwin's website and noticed that there is an updated part number out:

BT7349 is listed as having a can that is fluted for easier installation. It is listed for 1998-2007 Dodge/Cummins engines, including the new 6.7L. I assume "1998" refers to 24V trucks.

I wonder if this might be the same filter as the Donaldson Endurance version, part # ELF7349.

For all 12V trucks, Baldwin lists BT339 as the correct oil filter. I'm not sure what the differences are.

At any rate, I ordered a case of 12 from http://www.baldwin-filters.com at a price that was less than half of what I would have had to pay for a Fleetguard.

I'm just passing on information here about the Baldwin filter - don't want to get another filter war started. Any of you that have farmed, operated heavy equipment, or driven a truck know that Baldwin makes a high-quality product.
