Fass Hpfp Q!

I have a Fass on my 01. It is the setup with the filters and water sep. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it two years ago. My issue is I got a pump only set up from a member that was not used yet. I want to use it for one of my other trucks not VP equiped. The install should be strait forward but I noted that this unit does not bypass back to the fuel tank. Does it bypass internally? Will it hurt the FASS pump to use it on a system that does not bypass alot of fuel back to the tank? My concern is that with all the volume these pumps produce, Will the pump suffer from working againsed resistance and building heat and therefor self destruct?
