PPE Lift pump???

Howdy folks I was looking around on ebay the other night and came up with the PPE lift pump with adjustable regulator for Dodge Ram diesels-- $279. Anybody ever tried one of these things or know somebody who did. I have been having terrible lift pump problems, did the vulcan relocate kit to the frame rail and everything, sometimes they last 6 months the last one only lasted 2 weeks. I have been able to get them warrantied thus far, but the guy at the parts store is starting to think I'm crazy and something is wrong with my truck. I have drilled out my banjo bolts and everything trying to eliminate restriction. I know I should just get a FASS but I can't bring myself to spend $500 for a fuel pump. Just seems like there should be a less costly way. Thanks Eric

P.S. I have heard some guys using a Holley Blue on these forums, Holley came out with a new gearotor pump, Black I think, don't remember exactly what its called saw it in a Summit Racing catalog Any body trying one of those???
