Standard Transmission disappointing service.
Well, after over 400k I had my NV4500 rebuilt at a local Wa. state tranny shop....so called experts who knew the correct NV4500 fix(s). 5 months later 5 goes and I'm stuck in reverse. Guy at shop is all about blamming the tranny and saying no fix will work. So, I ate it, walked and decided to order from Standard Transmission given their add in TDR etc, and have my normal mech. install it. I knew nothing good could come from him touching the truck any more.

Well, they (Standard)"may" be a good unit, but the guy who took my credit card info over the phone told me 4 days delivered to my mechanic's shop for him to install. 7 days later no word and no follow up in spite of his word to do so. Called him this am and he didn't even remember the state he was shipping it!

I found a reputable re-builder in Kent Wa. who will have a unit at my mechanics shop in two days with the latest fixes, longer splined shaft, shims etc etc. And $200 less with no core charge (he'll ship mine back) and great warranty! I called Standard and cancelled my order.

Crap like this discourages me about our country, our ethics, and our laziness and incompetence. Horrible workmanship, then bad service from the next guy who cannot trace a shipment.......probably cuz it hadn't been sent?????

Be wary folks. it seems now a days you have to be extremely careful who you trust.
