Edge Comp settings

I just got my DTT TC ,VB, and tranny upgrade kit installed (Thanks, Inarush)

. I also got my edge comp installed with no pump wire yet (installation was compliments of inarush). My question is: Do the different power levels and settings make any difference without the pump wire hooked up. I ask this because I've been told that it doesn't, but it seems like it does
