Input shaft on 4500 has a little bit of play in it... is this normal?

upon going back underneath the truck to put the new clutch back on, I noticed that the input shaft on the front of the tranny has a little bit of play. I am sure it will be gone once mounted up to the motor and all, but is this normal?? someone please let me know pretty quick!
