Question for bypass oil filter users
I had a fellow TDR member call me last night. He was referred to me through Deb at Frantz Filters. He said he was considering the use of a Frantz Filter on his '96 CTD, but was unable to locate a pressure valve. He apparently did some research and spoke with Cummins, who he stated advised that a 20 psi valve should be placed prior to the inbound oil feed for the filter, to avoid the filter receiving oil when the oil pressure is below 20 psi's. I never heard of this before, curious as to your thoughts ???
I honestly don't think I've ever seen oil pressure below 40 psi's on my truck, do the 12 valvers normally run at lower oil psi's when warm. compared to the 24 valvers ???
