Who's made their own exhaust? (not stacks)

I was thinking of doing this to save some scratch. I was going to get a 4" downpipe, connect it to a 4 to 5 inch resonator and then run 5" to the axle, flexpipe over it to a 5" tip in back. I can weld it halfway decently, or just use band clamps and weld hangers on. 5" is overkill, but I think it will sound better. See any problem with this?
