For my 97 12 valve who makes a good rebuild kit for the motor

I posted a ad a while back on who has good rebuilt short blocks
and found out the prices were about $4,000 from piers diesel and cummins west.
I found a guy who is willing to rebuild my short block he was looking at useing cummins west kit for $ 800.00 for pistons rings beaings gaskets.

My question being is should i go through cummins west and get there kit for $800.00 or try piers or who else is really a good place to buy my parts from for engine rebuild kits. that will last me 300,000 miles or more.
or should i just get a short block from cummins or piers and then have my head redone.

i want to do the job right the first time and i figure for 6,000
dollars i should be able to get it dun right including parts and labor.
