In a power box quandary

Help - I can't decide which box to buy, van Aaken or Edge EZ.

Engine is stock and I already have gauges. The VA has a boost fooler but no elbow for the turbo - it has to be purchased seperately. Both have about the same power/torque increase. The Edge claims a mileage increase while the VA does not. I need a box for towing and this will be the only power enhancement. I've heard good and bad things about both boxes. Some of the bad things are increased "rattling" noise, rough idle, failure rates. The good things are .. well.. power. Will either box have any adverse effects on my VP44? Opinions and comments welcomed. Thanks.
