EGT on a stock truck?

My friend just got a 2001 (i think) 2500 dodge w/automatic all stock and i told him to get a fuel pressure gauge, do you guys think he needs to worry about EGT gauge? he is going to use it to pull a trailer but im not sure of the weight.
