Hitch class
We recently purchased our first towing vehicle, a '95 Ram 2500 (we have 30 years of experience towing horses, but w/ other people's vehicles). Came w/ hitch installed...for all I know it could have come from the factory that way back in '95 (the hitch is definitely not shiney-new). I'd like to know for sure what class it is, but I cannot find a plate or stamping anywhere on the hitch. Does anyone know if there are any obvious structural characteristics that define Class 3 & 4 hitches and distinguish them from the toys? Bought the truck from a dealer, so can't ask the old owner.
