How to trailer wiring?

I just bought a 33' 5th wheel flatbed hauler.
I have a 1995 truck. Just wondering how to wire up the coupler. Do I have to splice into the trucks wiring? Or is does the truck have a circuit just for trailer wires? I have a 7 pole connector that I will be using.
