Factory Reciever Tow Rating

Does anyone know how much the Factory reciever is designed to tow on a 2004 2500. I have a friend with a truck similar to mine that is towing approximately 14k with it. I couldn't find in the manual anywhere where it said the hitch capacity. What is the most anyone has towed with theirs? Any problems? Thanks, Joe
