30ft gooseneck on 92 w250

I have seen posts where a lot of you guys are pulling big fivers with 3/4tons. I would like to get into a 30 ft gooseneck. Probably a 12,000 gvwr trailer. Would three axles be better on the trailer to reduce pin weight. As for mods I was thinking of a DTT tranny, air bags, E rated tires ... What do you all suggest?
