04.5 stock hitch

I just read all the stock hitch stuff and I can only hope that Dodge has upgraded the hitch for the 04.5 model ?

My question is can I put on a new hitch bar that is 8 inches longer than my stock one ?
I need the extra clearance to open my camper shell door with the trailer hooked up.
With that extra leverage from the longer bar tweak or tear off the dodge receiver ?
