Gooseneck extensions

Just bought a 28 foot enclosed gooseneck and the cab and trailer clearances are a little tight in turns (Short bed pickup). Anyone have any experience with the gooseneck extensions from here:

Primariy concerned with how it alters the weight distribution on the truck.
