Tow wiring Harness
Why would Dodge build a truck without the 7 pin wiring harness for electric breaks? This truck has the 10K hitch and 4 pin harness. (05 Laramie 3500 HD 325/610 48RE SRW LWB 4:10). I bought the truck used with 20K. I could not pass up the deal. It replaced a 250 Ford V10 3:73's.
I researched the trailer tow package info and came up with, the Laramie comes incomplete?? I bought a Mopar add on harness. It utilizes the 4 pin connector and connects to the left rear light circuit (I do not like this). I tow a 5 ton equipment trailer and a 312 Ameri-Camp. I use the Equalizer hitch. Both trailers over taxed the Ford. All vehicles coming at me after dark hated the lights in the eye stuff.
Is the harness add on the right way to go?
I love the truck. It is all I hoped it would be and more!
