truck camper

I have a 8.5ft fleetwood angler slide in truck camper I haul in my 98 q/c long bed. I am looking at a 03 q/c short bed Im not sure if I would have any problems with the camper or the short bed truck? the camper only weighs 1700 lbs I am going this weekend to try out the truck. anyone made this swap?
