Bucking in 1st with 5th wheel
I just got back from my first trip towing with the new truck. I had a couple of instances where I was waiting at a stop sign, on an incline in 1st gear. As I released the clutch (probably a little too fast), the truck lunged slightly, tugging on the fiver. This resulted in a violant jerking back and forth between the truck and trailer that would only stop if I put the clutch back in, stopped and started again slipping it in second.
I just wanted to know if anyone has had the same experience. The clutch engages fairly abruptly and close to the floor. I assume this contributes to the problem. I towed with my '97 CTD 5 speed for 9 years without this ever happening.
Thanks for your ideas.
