Best Route To Florida

I'll be towing my 39' toyhauler 5er from Buffalo, NY to Florida this month and wondered what would be the best route in the winter ? I originally was going to take rte 79 south @ Erie, Pa but am concerned about the mountains in West Virginia if icy. Any suggestions ? Thanks for your imput.
