front end lift

i have a 35' fleetwood wilderness 5'r i used to tow with an 04 and loved it, but had to get rid of the truck. well went to go put the trailer in to storage and hooked it up to the backup truck. the backup is an 82 gmc regular cab longbed with a 12 valve. while pulling anything over about 15psi of boost the front end unloads and wanders. i love the power and all but is there anyway i can keep the front end down with out only using about 1/4 throttle. it kinda makes on ramps a scary task. the hitch is 1 in further forward than the instructions say to put it because the frame bends down a tad and you cant get the top bolt in on the rear rail brackets. the truck has airbags but the truck goes level at about 40psi and lifts beyond stock height at 60psi. any help would be appreciated. thank you in advance
