Towing a 06' ?

Have a "06" 2500 diesel ,Laramie, 4x4, 6 speed manual used to tow a 5th wheel RV. Upgraded RV to a 42' Monaco Coach and have a question about using Dodge Ram as a towed vehicle. Dodge book says ok to tow, keeping manual tranny in gear and depressing a button on the 2wd, 4wd, 4wd low electric switch (lower left corner of electric switch plate). I think this releases the front and rear drive shaft connection in transfer case? Any one have any experience with this and does any one out there in TDR land have any advice on this plan? Tow weight on coach is 10,000 lbs. Dodge weight on scales yesterday was 7900 lbs. Will use Road Master all terrain towbar rated at 10,000lbs and the Roadmaster air brake system for towed pickup. Hope some out there has done this and will impart words of wisdom.
