Bay Area, Ca to Yellowstone and back

The week before the 4th of July this summer I'm taking my kids and granddaughter to Yellowstone for a week. I plan on splitting the trip up into 2 days there and two days back. We plan on rafting in Jackson Wyoming on the 4th, staying for fireworks then heading home in the morning. Any thoughts on sites to see, places to stay along the way, fuel stops or whatever anyone can think of would be greatly appreciated. We are staying at Canyon campground while in the park and of course we're taking the truck and trailer in my signature.
Thanks in advance Brian.
