Honda Eu 2000i oil How much?

I just got my brand new generator, there is no oil in it. Manual says to fill until proper level on dipstick. My question is how much is that? I do not want to spill oil all over the place. Is it one quart, half a quart, two quarts, or 3 gallons like the truck?

Also Honda dealership only had 10-40 oil. Manual calls for 10-30, will it make any difference if I use 10-40?
