question about a missed wired brake controller

It was one of those days last Friday.

I went to the local truck accessory place to have some nerf bars and brake controller put on. They only had th Tekonsha Prodigy and Reese. So I went with the Tekonsha.

I should have known something was wrong when I left. My turn signals did not work, and they could not figure out why. I had to figure out that it was the hazard fuse.

Anyways, after a new $4.50 20 amp mopar fuse, I hooked up to the camper to go hunting for opening weekend of deer season. While driving around the neighborhood trying to set the brake controller, as I would hit the brakes, the camper brakes would grab so hard, it would snatch th truck. I was constantly trying to adjust until the brake fuse blew.

And the readout then said 'SH'. I called Tekonsha and they gave the wiring schematic for the dodge. The truck accessory missed wired it.

After a new fuse and correct wiring, it still read 'SH' while camper was hooked up and 'OL' while applying brakes.

Tekonsha said that meant a short in the camper.

My question is, could the miss wiring cause a short in a camper?

It was working fine before. My friend even came over in his dodge to plug in the camper to his truck. He has a Reese. It was reading 'OL'

I need to know what to tell this bozo who owns the truck access. place. The lady at tech support told me that my prodigy box may even be damaged.
