Thumbs up 6000# Travel Trailer, PE Comp 4-4, Piers Turbo, 65+ MPH over Snoqualmie, 1200 EGT's

While on our trip to BD Dyno Days, I had located a 1994 Fleetwood Savanna 26B (28 ft.) travel trailer. NADA average retail is $9750.00 and High retail is $10,430.00. It was advertised for $6300.00. I thought I would stop and take a look. What a find! It was in close to excellent shape! The lady was selling it because her husband had a heart-attack. I bought it for $5700.00 fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and all the extras! It also included a Reese equalizer hitch and sway bar stabilizer. I told her I pick it up Sunday morning after BD Dyno Days.

This was on Friday, we then headed up north to see Piers for an exhaust brake. On our way to Abbotsford, I saw the exact same trailer in a RV dealers lot. Kathy and I stopped on the way back down after Dyno Days. (By the way 427 HP minus the HX40 but installed Piers turbo.) This trailer wasn't in as good a shape as the one I had just bought, the dealer was asking $12,150.00!

After picking the trailer up on Sunday, and going to Rob Hanson's to wire in the brake controller (Thanks Rob!), Kathy and I headed home.

I thought that if I could keep the PE Comp in level 3-1 with the trailer going up Snoqualmie Pass and stay under1200 EGT's that would be great! About 1/2 way up my EGT's were about 1100 degrees, I figured what the heck, lets see what level 4-4 does. I couldn't believe it! Cruised right over the top with the speedometer at 65 mph in 5th gear. With the 8-10% additional speed because of my 305/70R16's I was right about 70 mph and still had a ton of pedal left, and EGT's were only 1200 degrees. That just blew me away, I could hardly believe it! I got rid of my EZ and HOT PE for the Comp because I was going to get a travel trailer, the Comp is definately the right choice!

Sorry for the long post.
