Post gvwr let's be realistic

sure our trucks can pull an awesome amount of weight, ive towed a 18500 lb forklift with my 3500 with a gooseneck hitch. would i travel on the highway with that load, no. would i consider getting my truck registered to haul this kind of weight, no. could i register my truck to handle this weight ? maybe. stay within the limits of your truck, and save yourselves the potential of a lawsuit or losing your truck and your load, because of overload. if you have a question, as to the limits of your truck, or your trailer, talk to your local dot enforcement officer. they are there to help and clarify the local and national laws. we've all seen the overloaded pickups, pulling more weight than they needed to haul, swerving and fishtailing up and down the interstate hiways. its not only the motor, but the "guts" behind the motor that determine what each of our trucks can haul safely. its like the man said, its not the pulling, but the stopping that ruin your day. if you feel that your rig is too light, upgrade to the next level. pay me now or pay me later, it may cost more, but look at the big picture. one wreck with an "overloaded" rig can cost you everything. regards, rob
