Camper gods I need help

I have a 82 24' TT Resort by Fleetwood that I've had for two years now, this is my first camper and I have no idea how to clean the fresh water tank

What do you guys do to sanitize your fresh water holding tank and lines? I've herd of some type of tablets you put in it or some thing but haven't done anything to mine since I bought it. (We just bring drinking water ) It would be nice not to have to bring along 4 extra gallons of water if I can get the tank cleaned and sanitized.

Not sure if the past owner ever sanitized the tank or not but it doesn't smell bad or anything, but I don't trust drinking the water yet.
