Prodigy question

I have been doing searches and readings the threads that I come up with. I read some threads that said the prodigy brake controller only works at 10,000lbs or less. Is this still the case? The weight that I will be pulling varies. Some times alot more and sometimes less. I am looking at ordering one next week, if it works for over 10,000lbs. Any information or advice on this would be appreciated.
