Jordan controller install questions

The Jordan install instructions say to run 12VDC from the battery (through a 20A circuit breaker). Can I just get the 12VDC+ from the Dodge brake controller pigtail (it's marked 12VDC+ 30A)? If that's the case, then I use 3 of the 4 wires (don't use the sense wire) on the Dodge pigtail, right?
