Trailer Braking Problems

I purchased a Jordan Altima 2020 brake controller, approx. 3 months ago for the braking duties of my TT. The first two times I plugged my trailer in to my truck (factory trailer towing package) the controller worked great with my BD exhaust brake!

Last week I plugged the TT up and I could not get the green connector light to illuminate on the Jordan or the TT brakes to work (thank goodness for BD). I reset the plug into the trucks male connector over a dozen times to no avail. I am using heavy-duty grease on the trailer plug (female end) to prevent corrosion.

I am now thinking that I need to take brake cleaner and clean the contacts off good and not put grease on it. I need some good ideas on what to do.
